Scripture Reading:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
- Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

After long hours of assisting and helping my nephew in his school, I still needed to work at night. It was my first class when I nearly shouted at my student for a simple reason. Reflecting on it, I knew I was tired both mentally and physically and I shouldn't take it to an innocent person. It's a good thing I caught myself before letting the bold words out. I'm sure we all have this kind of situation occasionally. If you once had it, it is a reminder to take a rest.
In our fast-paced world, we often equate busyness with productivity and worth. Sometimes, we even reach a point that when we are not busy, then we are becoming lazy. Yet, the Bible reminds us of the importance of rest. Even Jesus, amidst His ministry, took time to withdraw and rest. Taking time to rest is not a sign of weakness; it's a necessity for maintaining our mental and spiritual well-being.
By taking a step back and allowing ourselves to rest, we can recharge and refocus on what truly matters—our relationship with God and our purpose as Christians.
Resting allows us to hear God’s voice more clearly, renew our strength, and approach our daily tasks with a fresh perspective. It helps us become more effective in our ministry and more present in our relationships.
Today's guide for your reflection:
How often do you take intentional time to rest and recharge?
What steps can you take to ensure you are finding true rest in God's presence?
Today's Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of rest. Help us to prioritize it and understand its importance in our lives. Grant us the wisdom to step back and find peace in Your presence, so we can serve You and others with renewed energy and a clear mind. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Heavenly Father, In Your arms I find my comfort, in Your presence I find my solace. Thank you being the only constant in my life. Work in me so I can work for Your glory. Amen.
