Today's Scripture Reading:
"The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it."
- Genesis 2:15 (NIV)
When we hear about "The Garden of Eden", we often think about the place where Adam and Eve lived. However, it represents more than just the birthplace of humanity. It symbolizes God's provision and desire to have a close relationship with us from the beginning. Before they committed the sin, they enjoyed a direct connection with God. Talking and walking with Him daily. But, everything changed when they succumb to temptation.
Just the same in our lives, we often face temptations that can lead us away from God. But because of His love for us, He sent his son to save us and restore us. To have an intimate relationship with Him. Because He already forgave us even before we utter the words.
That's how His grace overwhelms our human nature.
The Garden of Eden teaches us that disobedience has consequences, but it also shows us that God wants to restore our relationship with Him through His love and forgiveness. Think about your own "Garden of Eden" moments—times when you've felt God's presence and provision but also faced temptations that challenged your faith. Whatever you do after that, always choose to go back to Him.
He sent His only son for you because you are worth saving.
