Thoughtful Starter:
Try to listen to the song, “Amazing Grace”.
Today’s Scripture Reading:
2 Chronicles 33:16 (NLT) - "Then he restored the altar of the Lord and sacrificed peace offerings and thanksgiving offerings on it. He also encouraged the people of Judah to worship the Lord, the God of Israel.”
Our verse today is about the life of Manasseh, especially his restoration. He did terrible things against God but was humbled by His grace. Defeated, he prayed to God fervently and asked for His forgiveness. God was moved by his prayer and restored him.
In "Amazing Grace," the hymn written by John Newton, we find the real-life story of a man who, like Manasseh, was once lost in deep sin but found. He found redemption through repentance. The lyrics “I once was lost, but now am found; was blind, but now I see” express his deep gratitude for God’s grace. His story shows that when we genuinely repent, we experience personal transformation.
This is the power of true repentance: it transforms not only our hearts but also our actions. Like John Newton and Manasseh, when we experience God’s grace, we are called to turn from our sin and actively live in a way that honors Him. Today, let us reflect on the changes we need to make in our lives and allow God’s grace to fuel our transformation.
