Thoughtful Starter:
What do you think about small beginnings?
Today’s Scripture Reading: Zechariah 4:10
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand”.
Being friends with some clergies, their stories in their ministry are mostly our topic during our coffee sessions. I’m always in awe of how they live out their faith through their vocation and personal lives. Witnessing them serve at the altar and leading the people to worship, I began to wonder about my ministry.
Can a lay person like me, a simple woman who desires to live for Him, have a ministry in this life?
Looking back at the stories in the Bible,
God mostly used the “simple” people to create a huge impact.
Joseph, the carpenter, David, the shepherd, John, the fisherman and so much more. We don’t have to necessarily work at the church’s altar to follow Him. His altar extends more than that.
Each of us has our “altar” He handcrafted.
May it be through our work, our relationships, our words, and ultimately our lives.
We offer it all to Him.
Let’s begin where we are, do what we can for Him, and let Him handle the result.
