Thoughtful Starter:
When was the last time that you went to the doctor?
Today’s Scripture Reading: James 5:15
“Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well.”
Going to the doctor to be checked and get his prescription for our medicines. This is what we usually do when we’re sick. Though this is good, we sometimes forget who is our eternal doctor, who can heal all our sicknesses and even offer peace in our lives. Truth be told, sometimes, we go to Him when we’ve already exhausted all our resources.
In Him, we don’t need to book an appointment. Just as the air that we breathe, so is His presence in our lives. So we call unto Him anytime we want to. We share with Him not only our worries but also our victories. And we do this, through our prayer to Him. He said, “Call unto me and I will answer you” (Jeremiah 33:3).
So today, may we be reminded that He is always willing to listen to us. He is never busy for us. When we’re sick, let’s not forget to clasp our hands in prayer before everything else. He will make us well.
