Thoughtful Question To Start: What has been weighing you down lately?
Scripture Reading:
"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.
For when I am weak, then I am strong." - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NIV)
"When will this end? I'm tired of crying." "Why do I need to suffer this?" These are some of the questions we inevitably ask whenever we face challenging times. Or maybe we have more of this. Whether we accept it or not, we inevitably ask these questions to God in times of trials. In the letter of Paul to the Corinthians, God answers these questions. Only if we let it be answered by laying down our weakness to Him and opening our hearts to him.
Admitting our weaknesses can be difficult, but it is in our weaknesses that God's strength is most evident. His grace is sufficient for us, providing the power we need to endure and thrive. The Apostle Paul experienced this firsthand and found that God's power is made perfect in weakness.
When we embrace our limitations and acknowledge our need for God's strength, we invite Christ's power to rest on us. We surrender our battles to Him to attain victory with him.
It may sound paradoxical, but it is what He is saying and we follow it by faith.Instead of hiding our struggles, we can lay them to Him and boast about them, knowing that they highlight God's incredible power working through us.
Today, let's embrace our weaknesses, and let God's strength shine through them.
Today's Guide for your Reflection:
What weaknesses or struggles do you need to surrender to God?
Today's Prayer: Lord, I surrender my weaknesses to You and trust in Your strength. Let Your power be made perfect in my weakness, and help me to rely on Your grace daily. Amen.
