Thoughtful Starter:
How do you deal with struggles?
Today’s Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 1:6
“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure trials for a little while.”
When gold is heated, its impurities will float to the top and can be easily removed.
Just like us, our trials, persecutions, and struggles are here for a reason. They help to refine and strengthen our faith, to help us build endurance, and become useful instruments for God’s glory.
When we face struggles, instead of asking “Why is this happening to me?”, we can replace it with “Why is this happening for me?”
What’s the difference? When we ask the first question, “Why is this happening TO me?”, it is coming from a victim’s mindset, filled with bitterness and sorrow. However, when we ask the second question, “Why is this happening FOR me?”, it is coming from a place of humility. That you acknowledge that you don’t know all the things in the world and you are open to new learnings in your life.
Today, may we see life’s difficult situations in a new light. That it may be hard for now but it’s refining us to see God’s image within us.
