short powerful devotion

Me: Good morning, what makes your morning good?

Taiwanese student: I’m alive.

I had this conversation with a student years ago and it still sticks with me to this very day. This is coming from a student, whose English is not her first language. He left a great impact on my life and my view of the world since then.

Our scripture reading today reminds us of the huge impact one person’s actions or words can have on the world. Through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world. But through Jesus Christ, salvation was made available to many. This verse highlights the contrast between the destructive power of sin and the redemption that we get in obedience to Christ. Jesus’ willingness to follow God’s plan, even to the point of death, brought life and hope to a fallen world. It’s a reminder that our actions, too, have huge consequences.

While we may not fully grasp the impact of our choices, deeds, and words, we can be confident that being faithful to God not only honors Him but also brings blessing and life to those around us. As we reflect today, let’s consider how our decisions, whether big or small, can either spread sin or reflect the righteousness that Jesus offers. May this short powerful devotion helps you today.

Today’s Reflection Question:
Are there areas in your life where you struggle with obedience, and how might those choices be affecting others?

Today’s Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the powerful example of Jesus, whose obedience brought righteousness and life to many. Help me to understand the weight of my actions and to choose obedience to You in all things. Forgive me for the times when I’ve chosen my own way and led others astray. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
