Daily Devotion: Who or what is using us?

***September 25, 2024***

Thoughtful Starter:
What is the most expensive thing that you’ve bought for yourself?

Today’s Scripture Reading: 1 Timothy 6:17

“Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who really gives us all we need for our enjoyment.”

daily devotion

Let’s face it, money makes our life happy and easy. We use it to pay for our necessities in this world- food, housing, clothes, and others. There’s nothing wrong with that, but remember this-

it’s us using money, not money using us.

Money is a tool for us to use in this world. With this, we should not depend on it, for as thin and light the bill is, so it is its nature-thin, light hence unreliable.

God is telling us that it’s Him that we should trust. He provides everything that we need for us to enjoy living in this world He solely created.

Unlike the unreliability of money, He is strong and dependable.

He never leaves us and He never forsakes us. He lives in us and guides us in this world. And we have the choice to be used by Him. That’s how He values us.

Thoughtful Reflection Question:
When was the time that you treated money as your priority?

Today’s Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for your unending mercy and guidance in our lives. May we always remember that money is our tool to use, not for us to be used by it. Amen.
