Thoughtful Starter:
Have you ever joined any race?
Today's Scripture:
“Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”
- Luke 13:30
Joining a half-marathon is a challenge for me. Hence before the event, I committed to training every day. The day of the event arrived and I went there with my leggings and sleeveless, an armband for my phone, and a white hat. I thought I was ready, but seeing the other participants with their full running gear on, I felt intimidated. I found myself going to the back and kept as quiet as possible. I already expected that I would be one of the people who the organizers would wait to end the race. My only goal then was to finish the event confidently in my heart with the Lord.
In Luke 13:30, Jesus challenges our human expectations by teaching that in God’s kingdom, the last will be first, and the first will be last. We often measure greatness by outward achievements, or sometimes, image. However, Jesus reminds us that God values humility, faithfulness, and a heart that seeks Him above all else. This verse invites us to examine our attitudes and priorities, to see if we are striving for earthly recognition or seeking to live in a way that pleases God.
In the race, I didn't run to get an award, but to apply all the lessons that I learned during my early morning runs with Him. The discipline, tenacity, and perseverance weren't built in one day. I acquired them all through my commitment to Him through the event. To end, I surprisingly won first place in the women's category. To Him be all the glory!
So inspiring! 🥰
