Thoughtful Starter:
What is your farewell message for the month of August?
Today’s Scripture: Matthew 6:8
“Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need before you ask Him!.”
What an assurance this is! That our Father in Heaven already knows what we need!
It’s already wrapped for us to open it like a Christmas present. It’s just there, waiting to be received. And we do it by choosing Him!
Have you ever heard of the song Seek Ye First? My favorite sentence from the song is this line, “Ask and it shall be given unto you, seek and ye shall find, knock and the door will be opened unto you” In reference, it’s also found in the gospel of Matthew.
This is like God is saying:
“I have everything that you need.
That before you ask, I already prepared it.
Before you seek, I have shown you the way where to get it.
And before you knock, I’m already behind the door waiting to open it for you.
That’s how He loves us.
And that’s how He patiently waits for us.
Today’s devotion is a reminder that in our life, may we always choose to be with Him.
For nobody knows us better than Him.

Lord, thank you for your patience in our stubbornness and your grace in our lives.
