Adulting may feel like a never-ending cycle of responsibilities, but sometimes, it’s the small things that matter. Appreciating these small wins makes us view life as less daunting and exhausting amidst all the responsibilities and bills on top.
1. The Joy of an Empty Laundry Basket
There’s something satisfying about an empty laundry basket. Imagine waking up one morning with dirty clothes washed and neatly folded in your closet. No more piles of clothes lurking in the corner. What a great starter of the day, right?
2. The Comfort of New Bed Sheets
Investing in new bed sheets is more than just a luxury; it’s a form of self-care. Fresh sheets can make our bedroom feel like our sanctuary. It doesn’t only promote better sleep but it also gives a cozy retreat after a long day. We deserve it, dear.
3. The Peace of a Clean House
As they say, “messy house, messy mind”. When we want to feel less stressed, it starts in our surroundings. It’s not just about the visual appeal; a tidy space can clear our minds and make it easier to focus on our tasks. This is especially a treat for the people who work from home. Plus, walking into a clean house after a busy day is a mood-changer!
4. The Bliss of a Silent Weekend
This is a necessity and a luxury. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, a silent weekend is a much-needed escape. Taking time to unplug, relax, and enjoy some peace and quiet can recharge our batteries and prepare us for the week ahead.
5. At least five hours of sleep
As we join the adulting road, sleep becomes a reward for our hard work. That having five hours of sleep (more or less) is more than enough to recuperate and be ready for what the day may bring. It seems like we can only totally rest and sleep when it’s a weekend or on holiday. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why some of us say, “vacation is my escape”. I feel you.
6. The Relief When Bills Are Paid
This is truly one of the most satisfying moments in adulting when all our bills are paid. Knowing that we are financially secure and that everything is taken care of brings a sense of relief and accomplishment.
7. I bought my Shampoo!
It might seem small, but buying a new shampoo may signify that we are able now to buy our necessities by ourselves, not from our parents or siblings, it’s us. We buy it from our pocket, our style, and our preference. We take care of ourselves. We become strong and financially independent one product at a time, isn’t that rewarding?
Adulting doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By appreciating and incorporating these small things in our lives can make life easier and more enjoyable.
