***An epilogue to last week's devotions to start a new week***
Filled with anger, frustration, and exhaustion, the woman fell on her knees in tears and cried out to the Lord, “How long, O Lord must I call for help? But you do not listen?” (Habakkuk 1:2) The room was filled with silence that you can only hear her sobs.
Like a gentle whisper, God answered her, “No discipline is enjoyable while it’s happening - it’s painful! (Hebrews 12:11) Do not despise these small beginnings (Zechariah 4:10), For the Lord your God is living among you. With His love, He will calm your fears” (Zephaniah 3:17)
She cried louder but not of desperation, now, for the realization that she has a God watching over her, calming her worries and giving hope that the painful suffering will not last forever. She clasped her hands in prayer for she believes the power of prayer. Her mother shared to her when she was young that “such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well.” (James 5:15)
With faith, she believes that He will make everything well. She prayed with her favorite verse “As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me. And my God will certainly hear me.” (Micah 7:7)
Take a moment of silence tonight to offer your prayers to Him. 🙏
