“Useless” to them, “Useful” to Him

christian poem

I didn’t know you

Yet you knew me

My parents didn’t mention you

But you worked through Naomi

She told me you are, our God

That you are with us

That you will take care of us

Because you love us

After the death of my husband

My faith wavered

I thought you’d always lend a hand

Seems like I’m not favored

Naomi, my mother-in-law

Still sees it without a flaw

Telling me to trust in Your plan

For your works in me have already begun

True enough, You sent Boaz

Unexpected, it created a buzz

Words of praise for our son

For Your plans have been won

I didn’t know you

Yet you worked in me

I’m a sinner, you knew

Still,  you blessed me

I’m Ruth, a believer in God

The daughter-in-law of Naomi

The grandmother of David

And one of our descendants is the Messiah
